The mayor of the city serves a two-year term, chairs the Common Council meetings, and serves as executive officer of the city. Mayor Jim Ness has served as alderperson from 1990 to 1996 and again from 2009 to 2016. He was elected to his first term as Mayor in April 2016 and his second term in April 2018. His current term ends in April of 2020.
Mayor Jim Ness is also active in the Lodi community and currently serves as the longtime Treasurer of the Lodi Curling Club Board of Directors.
