No Mow May 2023 Details

No Mow May Details

At the April 18, 2023 meeting, the City of Lodi’s Common Council approved a resolution for No Mow May. No Mow May is a national campaign that began in Appleton, WI.

Residents are welcome to allow all or parts of yards grow freely from May 1, 2023 through May 31, 2023. The City of Lodi will suspend the enforcement of City of Lodi Ordinance Chapter 122, Section 1 to voluntarily delay lawn care practices for participating homeowners during this time period to allow pollinator species to emerge and early flowering grasses to establish, which may result in groundcover exceeding established ordinance height restrictions.

Participating homeowners should hang a sign in a street facing window to designate they are participating.

The City of Lodi will not issue correction notices or citations for excessive weed growth or tall grasses for properties participating in No Mow May during this period that have designated their participation by hanging the No Mow May sign. Participants may print signs or pick up a sign City Hall or the Lodi Public Library.
